Yesterday Dave's parents and sister and her husband came up for our Christmas visit. From the moment these unique gifts came in the house the girls were super curious about what could be inside.
Thanks to a little help from Papa they were finally able to discover what the boxes contained.
Gorgeous new toboggans! We love that these are the kind of things that can be passed down for generations to come. We had (have) the lovely LL Bean baby sled when the girls were little, and are thrilled to now add these beautiful toboggans to the "family heirloom sled collection" we seem to have going on. Someday we'll have to add some Flexible Flyer type sleds to our collection too, as well as a family toboggan. Might as well cover all our bases, right?!
New cloaks and robes and books were given as well.
And a long wished for wish came true! Thanks Susan and Barbara for these dolls!
Then it was outside to try out the toboggans.

Unfortunately they kept sledding into the shadows so sledding pictures will have to wait for another time.
The topic of rollerskating came up and everyone agreed that a trip to the rink was in order.
Dave's parents gave us this retro Christmas decoration and the girls wasted no time decorating it. I have always wanted one of these trees and am thrilled to now have one to call our own! Thank you family for coming up to spend the weekend with us! All the gifts were lovely (and the toboggans really are gorgeous!) but what we enjoyed most was spending time with all of you! xoxo
