Learning The "Big Numbers"

In the fall Grace asked us if we would help her to "learn the big numbers". One of the ways that seems to be a good fit for Grace to learn these numbers is by having her write them on index cards and then add them to her number line. She likes to play matching games with her numbers (I have created a set right along with her so that we can play all sorts of games with them) but she says she likes the number line the best. I think that's mostly because she likes to see how far she can make it stretch!

  1. We did something like this a few years ago at Lilah's Valentine's Day party. I drew the numbers on red hearts and hid them all over the downstairs of our house. The kids had to find them and put them in order. They loved it.

  2. Thanks! We're wondering how many numbers it will take to get to the farthest corner of the kitchen! :)
