Friday At Jamestown And Yourktown

Our Friday in Virginia began at Jamestown. We explored the ships and the settlement and were surprised at how much smaller than Plimoth Plantation it was!
After Jamestown it was off to Yorktown
We're all glad to  have gone to Jametown but all agreed that Yorktown was our favorite of the two. The museum was absolutely stellar, and we spent a good long time exploring in there.
The girls both loved getting to try out the Stamp Act stamp (though they are sure we would have been against it)!
Getting to see an original copy of the Declaration of Independence (that was printed in Boston) was really incredible.
And we even got to "meet" Martha Washington!
Before we explored outside we stopped to learn about the muskets of the Patriot army.
Toys in one of the houses.

Before we returned to the condo we stopped by Colonial Williamsburg for one final visit. We enjoyed a late lunch (or was it an early dinner?!) and some snacks (those peanut butter cookies were the best we've had) before heading back to the condo for dinner with Dave's parents and an evening swim for the girls.
It was an incredible ending to an incredible trip. Though the four of us agreed we are all "historied out" for awhile! xo
